In 1291, when Alauddin played an important role in the pressure of Kara Malik Chajju's governor, Jalaluddin appointed Alauddin as Kara's new governor. Malik Chajju considered Jalaluddin, an ineffective leader, and encouraged Alauddin to conquer the throne of Delhi.
This, in combination with his anxious home life, convinced Alauddin to drop Jalaludin. Destroying Jalaluddin was not an easy task, because it would cost a lot of money to raise a great army and organize a successful coup d'etat.
In 1293 Alauddin attacked Bhilsa, a prosperous city in the kingdom of Malwa, in Paramara. In order to gain the confidence of the Sultan, Alauddin gave all his injuries to Jalaluddin. Jalaluddin was happy to appoint him to the Minister of Military Arizona Mamalik and to give him other privileges, such as the ability to generate more income to reinforce the army.
