Gulati was born in a Pakistani family belonging to the Punjab middle class, where his father sold spices in a shop called "Mahashian Di Hatti" Deggi Mirch Wale was opened in 1919.
His family was religious in spirit and followed vigorously "Arya Samas". He never was interested in studying and left school 10 years when he was in the fifth grade; because he was very interested in helping his father in his store.
When he was interested in business, his father sent him to work in accounting, where he developed the company of abilities for about 2 years. When he joined his father's store, he initially sold the "mehandi" on the street and scored around 20 / day.
During his fight for the independence of the British, he participated in the communist protests.
