In the elections in the Lok Sabha in 2014 he campaigned in Karuna-e-Bedari-raising a caravan in which he asked people to vote for the Congress and defeat Banda's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as Narendra Modi was common.
As Bhatt explained: "Every time before I record a song I sing it. Bhatt trusts that the party of the Congress is committed to secularism. Bhatt also criticized the conference report of the Congress Party for its role in the genocide in 1984, organized by Rajiv Gandhi in 1984.
