Early in his career, Iran worked as a waitress at Mc Donalds in Bandra, Mumbai. In 1998, Miss India Contest, Irani was one of the finalists. Smriti Irani - Miss India Competition. She appeared in 1998 in a song from the album "Saawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag" with Mika Singh.
