Previously, his family experienced difficult times when his father was an employee before he became vice president. Few people know that Dhanush played for the first time at 4 pm in the film "Thulluvadho Ilamai", directed by his father.
Dhanush met Aishwarya during the care of Kaadhal Kondein 2003. He is son-in-law of the popular southern Indian actor Rajinikanth. His wife Aishwarya is 2 years older than he. Dhanush is the first South Indian actor to reach 4M subscribers on Twitter
At the age of 26 he is the youngest actor to receive the national prize. He is anxious devotee of Lord Shiva and therefore he has called his two children, Yatra Pilgrimage and Linga Shiv Lingam. Dhanush is a musical lover and wrote and sang many tamil songs.

In 2011 his song "Kolaveri Di" won him a fame and became the first Indian video to be seen more than 100 million times.
Dhanush wrote this song in just 6 minutes and his slight version was recorded in about 40 minutes. In 2011, PETA declared him the best vegetarian. In one of his birthday he went to Kotiswari, dying 12 years old, who died of a cancer of blood.
