He started his career as an agent of LIC, but later became a member of his father's company, ABCL. Among his first failed film, Refugee 2000 and the first successful film Dhoom 2004, he gave 17 failures in a row.
Ashutosh Gowariker also approached him for Buvan's role in Lagaan 2001. Finally he went to Aamir Khan. With the occasion of Amitabh Bachchan's 60th birthday, he joined the Charisma Kapoor. But they were separated 3 months later due to family problems.
