His father was Gujarati and his mother was Kazajistán. He suffered from poverty until his youngest age and lived laughing in Mumbai. His true name is Jaikishen but his screen name Jackie was awarded him by Subhash Ghai for his Hero movie.
His true last name was Saraf, whose father changed to Shroff. Prior to acting, he tried himself as a chef in the Taj hotel and stewardess at Air India, but in both cases he was rejected for qualifying reasons.
His luck changed when he was on the bus and somebody offered him a handicap. His father Kakabhai was a famous astrologer and while Jackie was still a young man, his father predicted the glory and success of his son.

He fell in love with his wife Ayesha at the age of 17. She was 13 years old and belonged to a royal family. Once in 1998, he abused many polion reclamations. In 1990 he won the Filmfare Award for the best actor for the movie Parinda.
He had an older brother, who died at the age of 17, saving someone's life. In 2009 he played the role of Sai Baba in the film Malik Ek, for which he stopped smoking and drinking during the film. It was a time after his success when he was almost bankrupt, and his friend helped him out of this problem.
