She sang Deepika Padukone's role in Raabta for the title "Raabta". Her song "Ullu ka Pattha" is a duo with the film Jagga Jasos's Arijit Singh is a success. She sang for Sachin: Billion Dreams, the chef, Jab Harry With Sejal and Ittefaq.

A former student of the KM College of Music and Technology at AR Rahman, her first relationship with Rahman took place during an indo-German exchange, where she was part of a choir who played with the German orchestra.
Rahman later audited for a commercial project titled "Qyuki" with Shekhar Kapur, on which the pair worked. In 2012 she made an album in Bengal called Kotha, a reorganization of Nazrul Geeti, songs written by the famous poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
