He came from Rawalpindi, Punjab, now Pakistan. Her mother, Jaddanbai, was a singer of classical music and was considered one of the pioneers of Indian cinema. Nargis strived to become a doctor. However, her mother encouraged her to do a career in the theater and present her to cultural culture.

At six years she made her debut as a childhood artist in the film 1935, Talashe Haq; in which she was credited with "Baby Nargis", which means Narcissus, the Narcissus flower in Persian. Since then she has been credited with "Nargis" in all her films.

Nargis Flower She has appeared in several super-successful films of the 1940s and 1950s, such as Andaz 1949, Barsaat 149, Shree 420 1955, and so on. from a doctor or hospital in Mumbai. She was very passionate about the profession of a doctor and even after she was a star, she went to hospitals to help patients.

It was ironic that when she was diagnosed with cancer, the medical profession could not save her. At one point doctors advised Sunil Dutt to disable her CPR system after she was admitted to the New York Memorial Sloan - Kettering Cancer Center as she was in comma for months.

However, Sunil refused to do that and to her surprise she went out of comma and began to heal. She was buried in Badakabarast at Marine Lines, Mumbai. The name of the street then was changed to Nargis Dutt Road, in its memory. Most of his films usually have a tragic end.
