During his studies he emphasized in various sports, such as soccer, athletics and fight. In 2001 he participated in a community college and played half-professional soccer for the Hickory Hornets for 4 years in North Carolina.
He also participated in the NFL Scout Combination in 2007, where he did a bit but no team showed real interest in him due to lack of academic experience. He was a medium-sized boy in his teens, but from grade 9 to grade 12 he almost grew up and added more than 100 pounds.
In his first year he was 5 "8" and 180 pounds, and when he finished high school, he reached a massive body expansion with 6 "5" and 315 pounds. When he was in his early twenty years, he worked as a mechanic and kept in a nightclub in North Carolina.

One day he met some strong men who worked in another bar and when they saw him, they invited him to try the game. He hates rabbit and the last time he has scored, is from 2011.
Prior to joining WWE Developmental in 2013, he was a strong man and, from 2009 to 2012, he has won several Strongman matches for the United States. Just before he made his WWX NXT debut, he played a small performance in a 2014 movie titled "Three Counts".
