At 11 years of age, she appeared as an actor in the Naza film 1951 and later, Amjad played a few roles in the role of Father Jayant. At Amjad University he was the Secretary General of the Students Union.
In 1972 he married her child-friend Shehla. Marriage, which hardly happened, because the father of Shehla, Akhtar-ul-Iman, a famous writer, wanted to study it further. In 1975 he received Gabbar Singh's role in the Sholay movie. Initially he was rejected by Javed Akhtar for his dark voice.
However, Salim, who was one of his writers, stood on his role and eventually won Gabbar Singh's role. When Amjad Khan proposed Gabbar Singh's role, he was only 35 years old. He drew Sholay on the day of the birth of his first son, Shadaab, on September 20, 1973.

To help Gabbar Singh's role, Amjad read Abhishapth Chambal, a book on Chambal's dacoits, written by the father of Tarun Kumar Bhaduri Jaya Bhaduri. Abhishapta Chambal After the release of Sholay, Amjad Khan achieved fame.
His picture by Gabbar Singh is regarded as the first representation of pure evil in Indian cinema. Amjad's increasing weight led to his disappearance on July 27, 1992 after a heart attack at the age of 51.
