His grandfather, Brajendra Lal Ganguly, was a close ally of Rabindranath Tagore and the two often composed music in his house, Santiniketan. Although born and raised in London, Ash is a singer of Bengali and a cheerful language.
Interestingly, Ash never had formal musical training. In an interview, he revealed that when he was in London he never thought to be a singer. He added that he had done many small jobs in the country before the beginning of his musical appointment.
As a waiter in a hamburging restaurant or a salesman of computer stores, Ash has suffered all the difficulties without sight today. In another interview Ash asserted that he had relied on R. Rahman, who gave him his first exit in Bollywood.

Rahman first invited him to a hearing at his home in London. Impressed by his voice, the musical director is going to offer a song to him. Because his true name, Ashutosh Ganguly, is not fitting in one CD-sleeve, he decided to change it.
As a result, he shortened his first name and added "King" according to the advice of a good friend. Once Ash and her friend remembered Lady Gaga's 'Just Dance' song and downloaded it to a popular website for streaming audio.
He also acted in the prestigious MTV Indian program "MTV Unplugged", series 2. In fact, the series had a whole episode dedicated to its successes. Although he has several songs under his belt, the title he likes is a "Bang Bang Bang" movie! 2014.
