Although his real name Nayan Khadbade, she changed her name Reema Lagoo after her wedding. She divorced her husband after a couple of years of marriage. Lagoo started his career in Bollywood in the early 1980s and for the first time she played the role of a mother at the age of 31.
She is well-known to call her mother rolewriter roles in great films such as Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Maine Pyar Kiya, Saajan, Vaastav, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Hum Saath-Saath Hain for a few.
Besides the films, she has also appeared in various soaps and plays in Marathi. One of her most memorable roles was that of law at the Tu Tu Main Main Star show, as well as Supriya Pilgaonkar, who played her daughter.

On May 18, 2017 she died of a heart attack at the Kogilaben Hospital in Mumbai around 15.15. That same night she complained about the pain of the drawer.
Then her daughter and son-in-law brought her to the hospital around the 1st. She has been recently seen in the Naamkarann series, co-ordinated by Star Plus Mahesh Bhatt.
