At the age of 15, he married Rajesh Khanna six months before the release of his first film, Bobby. She stopped acting for 12 years after her first movie.
According to sources Rajesh Khanna banned her after the wedding. She considers her marriage with Rajesh Khanna as a joke. In an interview she revealed that she was "crazy about cinema" and no 8221; and tried to be made an actress when she was a child.
Raj Kapoor presented her to the Chinese industry and gave her an important role in the 1973 Romance teenager Bobby. She became the first Indian actress to show a bikini in her first film, Bobby.
