Unfortunately, at the age of 17, she had a road accident in 1981 when she returned with her parents from Madras to Tiruchirapalli. He damaged his leg due to gangrene, so she lost a leg.
She defeated her disability with the help of prosthesis "Piedo Jaipur", which required 3 years of physiotherapy to recover.
Her public dance show in Mumbai, on January 28, 1984, was so appreciated that she was one of the best Bharatnatyam dancers in India. Then she began to receive invitations for shows from around the world.
She is the founder of Sudha Chandran Dance Academy, which has many offices in Mumbai and Pune. She is Vice President of the National Association of Disadvantaged Companies NADE.
