Few people know that Naseeruddin is a successor of the 19th century military leader, Jan-Fishan Khan. This last one helped the British during the Indian rebellion in 1857. Shah's first film, Nishant 1975, received the national prize in the Best Movie category. The movie was then nominated for Oscars.
Rajendra Jaspal, actor and classmate of her, stabilized him in the FTII meat. The first was jealous of Sha's signature of some films he had believed to be her. His first wife, the late Parveen Murad, was 16 years older than he during her marriage.

Even after he became an established actor, she did not leave her love for the theater. In 1977 he and some friends founded a theater group called Motley Productions.
Shah is honored with a lifelong membership of the International Film and Television Club of the Asian Academy of Film and Television. His brother, retd General Lieutenant Zameerud-din Shah is the current Vice President of Aligarh Muslim University in 2016 at UMA.
According to some sources, Harry Potter's director Naseeruddin Shah wanted to listen to the role of Albus Dumbledore, after the death of the actor who played it for the recordings of the third episode of the series. However, he refused the audition and the role was entrusted to the English actor Michael Gambon.
