In 1985 he won the National Film Award for Best Children's Artist for the film "Bettada Hoovu". He produced two movie films "Navibbaru Namagibbaru" 1993 "Soothradhara" in 1996.
He is also a singer and sang many famous songs from Kannada as Baana Dariyalli Soorya's movie "Bhagyavantha" Kaanadante Maayavadano 1981 film "Chalisuva Modagalu" 1982 Govinda Govinda & Ela Elavo the movie 'Bhakta Prahl' 1983.
In 2010 he appeared in the multilingual film "Jackie" in the role of Janakirama, also known as Jackie. The film appears in 3 different languages: Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu.
